Community Services Centre Arkitekter Herstedlund by Dorte Mandrup

Dorte Mandrup Architects designed Herstedlund Arkitekter APS Community Centre in Denmark, which is based on the idea of forest and solutions. Architecture provides a framework for joint activities to a new housing area, housing about 600 families.

Building plans should be very open and with the ability to grow with new residents. If the community center to be able to incorporate all ages and interests from time to time, and different types of people from the informal meeting around an event, a summer festival, a big football or presentation by special interests and popular dining.

It will house the local culture in user-driven it is possible for an independent user group of buildings used at the same time. This building provides space for all kinds of cultural events recently in the broadest sense. This should be available for use at all hours, teaching dance, sports, drama, aerobics, yoga, BBQ, conference, bridge tournaments, children’s theater and weddings.

The sustainability of this project meet the Tier 2 Energy, and the following environmental initiatives include:
* Solar panels on top of the key cases in conjunction with soil warming.
* The principle of differential ventilation (Full mechanical ventilation and hybrid control).
* Possibility to bridge the active thermal heating of the earth for cooling in summer.
* A collection of rain water used for washing.
* Hot water can be removed in the bathroom.
* Males and motion-controlled lighting.
